It serves renters in over 120 countries from its more than 3,000 locations. It is essential to choose a company that values its customers and is committed to upholding its promises and contractual obligations.įounded in 1958 to appeal to the cost-conscious consumer, Budget is one of the most popular car rental brands. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering Budget Car Rental as their service provider. Their failure to provide a car for my confirmed reservation resulted in financial loss, disappointment, and a missed concert opportunity. In conclusion, my experience with Budget Car Rental was nothing short of a nightmare. If a car becomes unavailable, it is their duty to promptly inform the customer and provide suitable alternatives or compensation. I understand that unexpected situations can occur in any business, but it is the responsibility of Budget Car Rental to ensure that they have the necessary resources and inventory to fulfill the reservations they accept. This not only wastes the customer's time but also raises serious questions about the integrity and reliability of Budget Car Rental as a company. It is highly deceptive and misleading to advertise a service that cannot be fulfilled. I was so stunned and wondering what to do about my abandonment that I just sat down and started watching customers come and go after being told the same story as Budget told me. What further aggravates me is the fact that Budget Car Rental continued to advertise available cars for rent on their website. It is absolutely unacceptable for a company to say they will provide a service and then fail to deliver on that service, especially when it causes such significant inconvenience and financial loss to the customer. Despite this confirmed reservation, Budget Car Rental did not have a vehicle available for me when I arrived. To add insult to injury, I had already paid a substantial amount of money totaling $634.98 including hotel and Uber expenses. Unfortunately, Budget Car Rental failed to uphold their end of the contract, leaving me stranded and unable to attend the concert I had been eagerly looking forward to. Renting a car from Budget Car Rental was an essential part of my trip, as I needed reliable transportation to get to the concert venue. I had flown from Atlanta, GA to Cleveland, OH, specifically for the purpose of attending a concert in Akron, OH. Each of their services plays pass the buck, and in the end I paid for terrible service and regrettably potentially dangerous vehicles. The upshot of all this is they do NOT properly maintain ANY of their vehicles. We called the next morning and they offered yet another vehicle or to just return it with no one way charge. He did upgrade us to another vehicle but as we got about 30 minutes away the check engine light came on. The manager there made claims that if it was him he’d give us extra days but he couldn’t because we hadn’t rented from him. Well we drove another 80 miles, got air and made it to DIA. Through all of this they offered to have me wait 3 hrs for roadside assistance, to pay out my own money for a new tire, or drive 2-3 hours to DIA, mind you it’s 9:49 at night. I was driving and my son-in-law got on the phone, talked to roadside assistance, got told to call the reservation line, and then got told to call roadside assistance. We got on the road and in the middle of nowhere Wyoming the light came on for low tire pressure.
